Streamlined Admin
My first project at Jive Software involved rethinking the admin experience for a new version of our communication and collaboration platform targeted at small and medium-sized businesses. In designing the user experience, I had to keep in mind that our smaller customers would be doing all of the community configuration and admin work themselves, unlike our large enterprise customers that could afford a team of consultants.
I examined the original admin site — with its dozens of pages and hundreds of configuration options — and surfaced a small subset of the most essential functions every customer would need.
